Quick Guide: Moving Multiple Devices to a Different Group

Overview

This FAQ explains how you can move a large number of devices (100-200 or more) belonging to different groups into a specific group at once. Screenshots will be attached where applicable for better visual guidance.

Existing Methods to Move Devices

• Move Button: You can manually move devices using the 'Move' option.

• Drag and Drop: Devices can also be dragged and dropped into the desired groups directly from the UI.

Bulk Movement of Devices Using CSV Import

To efficiently move multiple devices at once, you can use the CSV import method. Follow the steps below:

• If you do not have the group you want to move devices to, create a new group first.

• Example: Create a group named "testnew".

Step 2: Export Devices

• Go to the All Devices page.

• Export the list of devices you want to move by downloading them in a CSV format.

Step 3: Prepare the Sample CSV

• Download the sample CSV template from Settings.(control panel-Device import)

• Open the downloaded "All Devices" CSV.

• Copy and paste the device details into the sample CSV template accordingly.

Step 4: Upload the CSV

• Upload the prepared sample CSV back into the system.

• Click on the "Import" button to initiate the upload.

Step 5: Verification

• After successful import, go to the Devices page.

• Verify that the devices have been moved to the newly created group (e.g., "testnew").
