This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to use the Device Import feature to move multiple devices into a custom group in bulk. This is useful when managing large device inventories and helps streamline device organization within the Saner CVEM platform.

Steps to Move Devices to a Custom Group Using the Device Import Option:

1. Export the Current Device List

Navigate to the All-Devices page.
Click on the Download button and select Export CSV.
In the export options, choose the following columns:
- Name
- IP Address
- MAC Address
- Group
Click Export to download the CSV file.

2. Update the CSV File

Open the downloaded CSV file.
In the Group column, update each device's group name based on your requirements.
Save the modified CSV file.

3. Import the Updated Device List

Go to the Control Panel in the Saner CVEM console.
Click on Device Import.
Select the appropriate Account.
Click Select File and upload the updated CSV file.

4. Review and Confirm the Import

After uploading, a summary of the devices to be imported will be displayed.
Review the details and click Import to proceed.

5. Completion

The import process will begin and may take a few moments depending on the number of devices.
Once completed, the devices will be moved to the custom groups as specified in your updated CSV.

Note:

Ensure that the group names entered in the CSV exactly match the intended custom groups. Any mismatch may result in errors or devices not being moved as expected.
