Product Version: 6.5.0.0
Overview
In some cases, the Operating System value may be displayed incorrectly on the Saner Console (Devices page).
For example:
A device running Windows 11 may appear as Windows 10 in the Saner console.
This usually happens due to incomplete OS upgrades where the registry values are not updated correctly.
Resolution
To correct the displayed OS version, update the registry values on the affected device and re-scan using the Saner Agent.
Steps to Fix the Issue
Open Services Manager
Press Win+R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
Locate and stop the "SecPod Saner Agent" service.
Open Registry Editor
Press Win+R
,
type regedit, and press Enter.Navigate to the following path:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
Update Product Name
Find the key named ProductName.
Change its value from "Windows 10 Pro"(or other incorrect version) to the correct OS value, e.g., "
Windows 11 Pro"
.
Close Registry Editor
Restart Saner Agent Service
Return to services.msc.
Start the SecPod Saner Agent service again.
Trigger a Fresh Scan
Run a scan from the Saner Console.
The correct OS version (e.g., Windows 11) will now be displayed in the Devices page.
Conclusion
If the OS version is displayed incorrectly in Saner, it is likely caused by incomplete OS upgrade metadata. Updating the registry ProductName value and re-running a scan resolves the issue and ensures the correct OS version is reflected on the Saner Console.
