How to Block domain and check status of Windows Update Server (WSUS)

Frequently, customers request the blocking of specific domains, such as web.whatsapp.com. This article provides detailed instructions on how to achieve this through Saner CVEM.

The second part of the article provides in-depth information on Windows update configuration settings and WSUS details on Viser. This can be highly useful during customer calls, as it eliminates the need for remote access to the devices to check how an update can be installed and configured, as well as verifying the WSUS server link entered. Additionally, it can help confirm whether the automatic download of patches is disabled on the device, a topic that is often discussed with customers during these calls.

How to block domain:

Go to Endpoint Management:

  • Select Actions

  • Click on Network as shown in the below screenshot

While there is

an option to check the WSUS status on the PM page, the information provided in this article offers more details about the WSUS server URL, whether auto-download of patches is enabled, and the settings present on the device. This can be particularly valuable in determining whether the patch was applied through Saner CVEM or if it was downloaded automatically.
