Purpose
During remediation jobs, devices may encounter issues related to Windows Update, such as error codes or failure to search and download KB patches. These issues typically arise when the Windows Update components are in an unstable state.
Solution
To address this, the Endpoint Management (EM) module provides an option to clean up residual or corrupted Windows Update files. This helps restore stability, enabling successful patching and remediation.
The following steps outline how to perform this clean-up using the TuneUp option in the EM module.
Steps to Perform Windows Update Cleanup
Navigate to the Endpoint Management Module
Go to the EM module on the console.
Click on TuneUp.
Select the Cleanup Task
In the TuneUp section, ensure that:
The Sub Task is set to System Cleanup.
