General Purpose Group devices are those detected by the Network Scanner. These are typically non-agent-based devices such as printers, routers, switches, and other network equipment, where vulnerabilities and misconfigurations are identified remotely.
Because of the way these devices are managed, the Move Device option is not available.
Below are the key reasons:
No Agent Installed
These devices are detected remotely through the Network Scanner.
Since no agent is installed on the device, it cannot be directly managed or moved.
No Activation Key
Agent-based devices are associated with activation keys for management and movement.
Network-scanned devices do not have activation keys, so movement isn’t possible.
Network Scanner Dependency
The Network Scanner is configured to scan specific IPs or IP ranges.
Devices discovered during these scans are tied to the scanner’s associated account and consume licenses under that account.
Mixed Device Management Limitation
Agent-based devices can be moved across accounts or groups.
Remotely managed (scanner-only) devices cannot be moved.
If both types are selected together, the scanner-only devices will be ignored.
