Overview
This article will guide you through the steps required to whitelist trusted applications and blacklist untrusted applications in Saner AE, using a trust-centric approach to manage applications in your network.
Prerequisites
Before beginning, ensure the following:
You have access to Saner AE.
You have administrative privileges to manage applications.
Steps to List, Blacklist, and Whitelist Applications
Step 1: Access Asset Exposure Dashboard
Log in to Saner AE.
Navigate to the Asset Exposure dashboard.
Step 2: View Asset Listing
Click on Asset Listing.
View the list of applications present in your network, including versions and publishers.
By default, all applications are whitelisted.
Step 3: Blacklist or Whitelist Applications
Select the checkbox next to an application to blacklist or whitelist it.
You can also edit existing applications and save changes.
Step 4: Export Application List
Click on Export to download the application list in CSV format for offline reference or reporting.
Step 5: Apply Filters
Saner AE allows filtering applications based on:
Blacklisted assets
Whitelisted assets
Family or group
Operating system
Publisher
Apply filters to quickly locate specific applications.
Step 6: Add New Applications
Click on Add New Row to manually add a new application to the listing.
Step 7: Upload Applications via CSV
Click on Upload from CSV.
Select the CSV file from your device containing application data.
The uploaded applications will appear in the Asset Listing.
Note:
While Asset Exposure allows you to list and manage applications, blocking an application is performed through the Endpoint Management module.
