Overview
Saner CVEM allows you to configure email-based alerts for vulnerabilities, patching, and other events. If your Microsoft Teams channel has an email address enabled, you can forward Saner CVEM alerts directly to Teams by entering that channel's email in the alert configuration section.
This method requires no webhook, coding, or automation tools just the Teams email address.
Use Case
This method is ideal for teams that want to:
Centralize alerts in a Teams channel
Track vulnerability or patch events in real-time
Avoid setting up webhook connectors or external integrations
Steps to Configure
Step 1: Get the Email Address of Your Microsoft Teams Channel
Open Microsoft Teams.
Navigate to the channel where you want to receive alerts.
Click the three dots (⋯) next to the channel name.
Select "Get email address".
Copy the generated email.
If the "Get email address" option is not visible, it may need to be enabled by your Microsoft 365 admin under Teams settings.
Step 2: Add the Email to Saner CVEM Alert Configuration
Log in to the Saner CVEM console.
Click the Alerts icon in the left-hand navigation panel.
Select the relevant module tab (e.g., Vulnerability Management, Patch Management, etc.).
In the “Send to E-mail” field, paste the Microsoft Teams channel email address.
Choose the alert conditions you want to monitor:
Critical vulnerabilities
Outdated applications
Daily posted events
License violations
New or uninstalled assets
Click Update to save your settings.
Result
Saner CVEM will now send email alerts directly to your Teams channel, and messages will appear as standard posts in the conversation view making it easy for your whole team to stay informed.
