Overview
This article explains how to configure alerts in Saner CVEM to notify administrators whenever a new software is installed on a managed device. By enabling this alert, you can proactively track newly added applications and take timely actions if unauthorized software is detected.
Steps to Configure the Alert
Log in to the Saner CVEM console.
Navigate to the “Alerts” section from the left-hand menu.
Click on “Asset Exposure.”
Toggle the Subscription Status to ON.
In the Notification Settings, specify the email address where you want to receive alerts.
From the Alert Types list, select “New Assets.”
This will trigger an alert whenever a new software or application is detected on a device.
Click “Update” to save the changes.
Result
Once configured, the system will automatically send an email notification to the specified address whenever a new software installation is detected on any device in your environment.
Notes
Ensure that the SMTP/email configuration in Saner CVEM is properly set up for alerts to be delivered.
You can add multiple recipients if needed by entering multiple email addresses.
Alerts can be fine-tuned further by adjusting asset exposure policies if you want to monitor only specific devices or groups.
