Modified on Sun, 16 Mar at 6:26 PM

Overview

SanerCVEM  provides multiple methods to initiate a device reboot. This document details the different approaches available for scheduling and executing a reboot using the SanerCVEM platform.

Methods to Initiate a Reboot

1. Reboot via Endpoint Management (EM)

  1. Navigate to EM >> Actions.

  2. Select Reboot from the dropdown menu.

  3. Configure the reboot task based on the preferred schedule.

Scheduling a Reboot Task

  • A reboot can be scheduled to occur after a specific time interval, with a default setting of one hour. This interval can be modified as per customer requirements.

  • A pop-up notification will be displayed before the reboot, reminding users based on the selected duration in minutes.

  • The second notification pop-up can be retriggered at set intervals, as per the configured settings.

  • Once the set time elapses, the system will initiate a mandatory reboot.

Postponing a Scheduled Reboot

  • Users can further postpone the reboot beyond the designated timeframe by specifying additional minutes for postponement.

  • After the extended delay, the device will execute a mandatory reboot.

Note: The “Time in minutes” field is used to delay the reboot after the scheduled end time. If the Immediate option is selected, the reboot will occur after the minutes specified in this field.

2. Reboot via Patch Management (PM)

  • Navigate to PM >> Status.

  • Select the required device and initiate a reboot task.

3. Reboot via Compliance Management (CM)

  • Navigate to CM >> Status.

  • Select the specific device where a remediation task has already been created.

  • Trigger the reboot action.

4. Reboot on Mac Devices

  • The reboot process for Mac devices follows the same steps as Windows devices.

  • Mac devices receive a total of three pop-up notifications before a mandatory reboot occurs.

  • The reboot can also be scheduled with an additional delay using the Time in minutes option.

Conclusion

SanerCVEM provides multiple options for initiating a reboot through Endpoint Management (EM), Patch Management (PM), and Compliance Management (CM). Users can schedule reboots, configure notifications, and postpone execution based on their needs. These features ensure flexibility in managing device restarts efficiently.
