Identifying Installed Applications or Assets Across Devices in an Account

Modified on Tue, 1 Jul at 12:03 AM

Purpose

This document outlines the steps to identify whether a specific asset or application—such as Windows 10 22H2 or third-party software like Google Chrome—is installed across the devices in a particular account, and to find out how many devices do not have the asset present.

This requirement typically arises when customers want a quick overview of specific applications across their environment for compliance, security, or inventory purposes.

Use Case

Let’s consider an example where you need to verify the presence of Google Chrome across all devices in a customer account. The objective is to:

  • Determine on how many devices Google Chrome is installed

  • Identify on how many devices it is not installed

Steps to Follow

1. Navigate to the Devices List

  • Go to the All Devices page for the respective customer account.

2. Select a Host

  • Click on the hostname of any device to open the detailed Device Page.

3. Locate the Application or Asset

Now select which application/assets you want to view the information.

  • Under the Assets → Applications

  • Or under the Vulnerabilities section

4. View Application Distribution

Once you click on the application (e.g. Google Chrome), the system will display:

  • A count of devices where the application is installed

  • A count of devices where the application is not installed

This gives a quick visual understanding of its distribution across the entire account.

In conclusion, this process provides a clear and efficient way to verify the presence of specific applications or assets across all devices in an account
