How to Fix the Incorrect OS Name Display in Saner

Modified on Wed, 19 Mar at 1:02 AM

Overview: Sometimes the operating system value is flagged incorrectly on the SanerNow Operating System page. For example, a Windows 11 device showed the OS version as Windows 10 on the Devices page.

Resolution :
The issue may be due to an incomplete OS upgrade on the device, resulting in missing required information.

Need to follow below steps to update the registry values for Product name.

  • Open services.msc on the device experiencing the issue.
  • Stop the SecPod Saner Agent service.
  • Open the Run dialog (Win + R), type regedit, and press Enter.
  • Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion.
  • Change the ProductName value from "Windows 10 Pro" to "Windows 11 Pro".

  • Exit the Registry Editor.
  • Start the SecPod Saner Agent service.
  • After performing a scan, Saner will display the correct Windows 11 version on the console.
