Yes, you can be assured that when creating the scope of a benchmark using the Group with Tags feature:
Only devices associated with the selected tag will be included in the benchmark scope.
Devices in the broader group that do not have the specified tag will not be impacted or evaluated against that benchmark.
Example:
Suppose you have a group called “CM Device tag Test ” with 20 devices.
Out of these, only 3 devices have the tag “production: Dev server ”.
If you create a benchmark with Group 'production: Dev server, the benchmark will apply only to those 3 tagged devices, not all 20 devices in the group.
This functionality helps you apply benchmarks to a focused set of devices, making configuration management more precise and efficient.
Recommendation:
We strongly recommend testing the benchmark on a small tagged set of devices (e.g., 2–3 machines) before applying it widely. Once confirmed to be working as expected, you can safely proceed with a broader rollout across production devices.
