Overview
This article guides you through configuring agent settings in Saner CVEM, including scan modes, scan types, CPU thresholds, missed scan behavior, and scheduling daily scans to monitor assets efficiently.
Prerequisites
Before beginning, ensure the following:
You have access to Saner CVEM with administrative privileges.
Agents are installed on the target systems.
Steps to Configure Agent Settings
Step 1: Access Control Panel
Log in to Saner CVEM.
Navigate to the Control Panel and select the target organization.
Step 2: Open Agent Configuration
Under Scanners, select Agent Configuration.
Click on Create Settings to start configuring a new agent profile.
Step 3: Configure Scan Options
In the Create Settings window, go to the Scan section.
Select the Scan Mode from the drop-down list:
Full Throttle Mode – Uses all CPU resources for fast scanning.
Low Scan Mode – Uses minimal CPU to reduce system impact.
Set the CPU threshold as needed ( Recommended by SecPod to set it to 0% )
Step 4: Enable Scan Types
Enable or disable the options to scan for:
Vulnerability
Compliance
Step 5: Configure Missed Scan Behavior
Define what happens if a scheduled scan is missed, such as retry behavior or notifications.
Step 6: Assign Settings
Enter a Setting Name and Description.
Select the Groups to which these agent configuration settings should be applied.
Click Create to save the settings.
Step 7: Schedule Daily Scans
Click on the Schedule option.
Set the daily scan time and schedule download time.
Choose the Agent Messaging Method: Live or Poll.
Step 8: Click on Logs
- Select Debug Logs
- Click Create to finalize scheduling.
Note:
After completing these steps, the agent is configured to perform asset scans automatically and according to your defined schedule, ensuring continuous monitoring of your assets.
