1. Security Patches Pane Overview

How to Access:

Navigate to the Security Patches pane from the Saner VM dashboard.

Key Features:

  • Displays the number of missing patches per device

  • Expandable list using the down arrow to view detailed patch data

  • Presents information including:

    • Device Name

    • Operating System

    • Group

    • Patch Size

    • Risk Level

    • Device Status


This data helps users assess the impact and determine the appropriate action for patch deployment.


2. Filters and Search Options

The tool provides robust filtering and search capabilities to streamline the patch management process.


Available Filters:

  • Group

  • Operating System

  • Device Family

  • Severity

  • Device Status

Search Options:

You can search devices with missing patches using multiple fields (e.g., device name, OS version, group). This enables quick identification of devices needing immediate attention.


3. Asset-Level Patch Information

In addition to device-based views, security patch data is also available by asset (software).


To view asset-level details:

  1. Click on the Asset icon in the Security Patches pane.

  2. The pane will display missing patches related to specific software assets.



Information Provided:

  • Risk Level associated with the missing patch

  • Patch Size

  • Date Published

  • Vendor

  • Reboot Required (True/False)

  • Number of Affected Hosts

These details help prioritize patch deployment based on business impact and operational planning (e.g., scheduling downtime for reboots).


4. Export Patch Data

You can export the patch details for further analysis or reporting:

  • Click the CSV icon to download patch information.

  • Export options are available for both:

    • Device-level patch data

    • Asset-level patch data
