1. Security Patches Pane Overview

The Security Patches pane displays a summarized view of devices with missing security updates. This section is designed to help users quickly identify vulnerabilities caused by unpatched systems.

How to Access

Navigate to the Security Patches pane from the Saner VM dashboard.

Key Features

  • Displays the total number of missing patches per device

  • Expandable device list using the down arrow to view detailed patch information

  • Provides the following details:

    • Device Name

    • Operating System

    • Group

    • Patch Size

    • Risk Level

    • Device Status

This information helps administrators evaluate the impact of missing patches and decide the appropriate remediation strategy.


2. Filters and Search Options

Saner PM provides powerful filtering and search options to simplify patch management and improve efficiency.

Available Filters

  • Group

  • Operating System

  • Device Family

  • Severity

  • Device Status

Search Options

You can search for devices with missing patches using multiple fields such as:

  • Device Name

  • Operating System Version

  • Group

These options help quickly identify high-risk or critical systems that require immediate attention.


3. Asset-Level Patch Information

In addition to device-level visibility, Saner PM also provides asset-level (software-based) patch information.

To View Asset-Level Details

  1. Click on the Asset icon in the Security Patches pane.

  2. The pane will display missing patches associated with specific software assets.

Information Provided

  • Risk Level of the missing patch

  • Patch Size

  • Date Published

  • Vendor

  • Reboot Required (True/False)

  • Number of Affected Hosts

This view helps prioritize patch deployment based on business impact and supports better operational planning, such as scheduling reboots or maintenance windows.


4. Export Patch Data

Saner PM allows exporting patch data for reporting and further analysis.
