The Timezone feature allows administrators to schedule patching, compliance, and other automated tasks according to a preferred timezone. This ensures that tasks run at the correct time for all users, no matter where their devices are located. It is particularly useful for organizations with devices spread across multiple time zones, as it guarantees consistent and reliable execution of tasks globally.
When scheduling tasks, you have two options:
Local Time: Tasks run according to the device’s own system clock, so each device executes the task at the same local time.
Centralized Time: Tasks run at a fixed time chosen by the administrator, ensuring that all devices, regardless of location, execute the task simultaneously.
This feature does not affect existing tasks. Any tasks already created will continue to run based on their current schedule. The timezone setting applies only to new tasks or tasks that are updated.
To set the timezone for a task, simply select your preferred timezone from the scheduling options when creating or updating a remediation, reboot, or automation task.
This flexibility allows administrators to align task execution with business hours, maintenance windows, or compliance requirements, making global device management simpler and more predictable.
