Pre-requisites and Limitations for Using Remote Access in Saner CVEM

Overview

Remote Access in Saner CVEM (as part of Endpoint Management) allows administrators to securely connect to devices within the organization for troubleshooting and management tasks.

To ensure smooth functioning, certain pre-requisites and system limitations must be met. This article lists all requirements and constraints for using Remote Access effectively.


Pre-requisites

Agent and Browser Requirements

  • Saner Agent: Version 6.2 or above.

  • Web Browser: Latest version of one of the following is required:

    • Google Chrome

    • Mozilla Firefox

    • Microsoft Edge

    • Apple Safari

  • Subscription: An active subscription to Saner Endpoint Management (EM) tool.


Network and Firewall Requirements

  • Ensure the domain relay.secpod.com is whitelisted in your firewall.

  • For EU region users, ensure eu.relay.secpod.com is whitelisted.

  • Allow both inbound and outbound communication on port 5349.


Antivirus Whitelisting


On Windows devices:

  • Whitelist the folder:

    C:\ProgramData\SecPod Saner
  • Whitelist the process:

    spremoteconnector.exe


On Linux and macOS devices:

  • Whitelist the folder:

    /opt/saner
  • Whitelist the process:

    spremoteconnector

Limitations

  • Windows OS:

    • Only Remote Screen is supported on devices running Windows 10 versions earlier than 1903.

  • Unsupported Platforms:

    • Saner Remote Access does not work on:

      • AIX

      • Alpine Linux

      • Linux 32-bit operating systems

  • Linux Desktop Environment:

    • Remote Screen is not supported on Linux devices running the Wayland desktop environment.
