Product Version: 6.5.0.0

Overview

In certain cases, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 (RHEL 7) devices may not appear in the Saner CVEM console even after the agent installation is completed. This article outlines the possible causes and provides step-by-step instructions to verify and resolve the issue.

Possible Cause

This issue typically occurs due to one of the following reasons:

  • The incorrect agent version is downloaded.

  • The agent installed is not compatible or not up to date.

Since RHEL 7 is an older operating system, it requires the Legacy Agent version, which is designed to support older system libraries and dependencies.

Resolution Steps

1. Verify the Agent Version

Ensure that the agent installed on the RHEL 7 device is up to date and supported. Older or incompatible agent versions may fail to register the device with the console.

2. Confirm the Agent Package Download

Ensure the correct agent package is downloaded for the RHEL 7 system.

3. Navigate to the Agent Deployment Section

Follow the steps below to download the appropriate agent:

  • Log in to the Saner CVEM Console.

  • Navigate to the Control Panel and select the appropriate Account.

  • Go to the Agent Deployment section.

  • Download the RHEL 64-bit Legacy Agent.

  • Refer to the screenshot below for reference.

4. Check Legacy System Support Information

On the Agent Deployment page, you can view a list of operating systems that require the Legacy Agent.
For these legacy OS versions (including RHEL 7), it is mandatory to use the Legacy Agent for successful activation and visibility in the console.

Conclusion

For RHEL 7 systems, using the Legacy Agent version is essential. Make sure the correct agent is downloaded and installed to ensure the device is reported successfully in the Saner CVEM console.
