Overview
The "Groups" section on the Managed Device page in Saner CVEM console provides a categorized view of devices within your environment. These categories help administrators efficiently manage devices based on their current status or grouping requirements.
This article provides a detailed explanation of each category available in the "Groups" section.
Group Categories Explained
1. All Devices
Displays all devices that are being managed either by the SanerNow Agent or the SanerNow Network Scanner.
Note: Every device listed under this section utilizes a subscription.
2. Unmanaged Devices
Includes devices where the SanerNow Agent has been uninstalled. These devices are no longer actively managed by the platform.
3. Unassigned Devices
Lists devices that are not assigned to any group.
This can be used when a device needs to be excluded from all groups for specific testing or administrative purposes.
Devices in this category can be reassigned to appropriate groups as needed.
4. Disabled Devices
Shows devices that have been disabled by the system administrator.
Key Behavior:
Disabled devices do not utilize a subscription temporarily.
Once re-enabled, the device will function as a normal managed device again.
5. All Groups
Displays a list of all default and custom groups created in SanerNow.
You can view the number of devices assigned to each group here.
This helps in tracking device distribution and managing policies across different groups.
Additional Notes:
Devices can be moved between groups as per operational needs.
Grouping helps streamline patching, remediation, compliance tracking, and reporting.
