Solution:
SanerNow ensures that its patch repository is continuously updated to provide the latest patches for operating systems and third-party applications. The following outlines how the patch repository is maintained:
1) Operating System Patches (Windows, Linux, and Mac):
The SanerNow agent communicates directly with the respective operating system vendors to collect the latest available patches. This process ensures that all OS-related patches are up to date.
- To view these patches:
- Navigate to the PM->Missing Patches section in the SanerNow console.
- Select the respective OS icon under the "Type" filter to view patches specific to the operating system.

2) Third-Party Application Patches:
Third-party application patches are categorized as follows:
a) Free-to-Use Applications (e.g., Google Chrome, PuTTY, etc.):
- SecPod downloads the latest patches for free-to-use third-party applications directly from their respective vendors.
- These patches are stored in SecPod’s local repository and are updated daily.
- The SanerNow agent retrieves these patches from the local repository as needed.

b) Paid Applications:
- For paid applications, SecPod provides a direct link to the respective third-party vendor’s site where the necessary patches can be downloaded.
- Users are required to follow the link and manually apply the patches.
