Performing Posture Anomaly (PA) Scan on an Account for the First Time

Modified on Mon, 29 Sep at 7:01 PM

When you access the Posture Anomaly (PA) dashboard for the first time, you may notice that it appears blank. This is expected if a PA Scan has not yet been performed on the account.

The PA tool requires scan data in order to compute and display anomalies within your account. To generate this data, you need to run a PA Scan.

How to Launch a Posture Anomaly Scan

Follow the steps below to perform a PA Scan on an account:

Step 1: Select the Account

  • Navigate to the account selector on the top-left corner of the page.

  • Choose the account where you want to perform the PA Scan.

Step 2: Initiate a PA Scan

On the PA Scanner page, you have two options:

Option A: Run an Immediate Scan

  • Click Scan Now to start the scan immediately.

  • The time required will vary depending on the number of devices in the account.

Option B: Schedule a Scan

If you do not wish to run the scan immediately, you can schedule it for later. The following scheduling options are available:

  • Daily – Scan runs every day at the configured time.

  • Weekly – Scan runs once a week at the configured time.

  • Monthly – Scan runs once a month at the configured time.

Post-Scan Results

Once the PA Scan completes, the tool will compute and populate the dashboard with detected anomalies. You can then review and analyze posture anomalies across your account for better security insights.
