Create and Verify the Compliance Benchmark in the New SanerCVEM Version

Modified on Fri, 18 Jul at 12:11 PM

Objective:

While certain organisations may not be mandated to adhere to specific compliance benchmarks, maintaining a strong security posture remains essential. To support this, SanerNow offers a collection of general security templates that enable you to create customised security policies aligned with your organisation’s unique requirements.

With the latest SanerCVEM version, there are a few enhanced steps to create, edit, and apply these benchmarks effectively.

Steps to Create and Apply a Custom Benchmark

Step 1: Navigate to the Benchmark Section

  • Go to the Compliance Management (CM) module.

  • Click on Benchmark

  • Then, click on Create New Benchmark.

Step 2: Select a Template and Category

  • Choose the desired template from the list.

  • Select the appropriate category based on your policy or security requirement.

Step 3: Verify and Customise the Benchmark Rules

Once the template is selected, you will see a list of rules associated with the chosen category.

  • Click on Verify to view the complete set of benchmark rules.

  • Review the rules, select the relevant ones, and deselect the rules that are not applicable to your environment.

  • After reviewing, click on Save, and then proceed by clicking Next.

Step 4: Define the Scope

  • The scope refers to the device groups where you want to apply this benchmark.

  • Select the relevant group(s) from the list.

Summary:

You have now successfully created a custom compliance benchmark using the updated SanerCVEM interface. This allows you to apply only the relevant security checks to specific device groups, ensuring flexibility and better control over your organisation’s security posture.
