This article provides a step-by-step guide for administrators on how to add, modify, or delete Windows registry entries using the Endpoint Management module.
Steps to Add/Modify/Delete Registry Entries
Access Endpoint Management Module
Log in to your console and navigate to the Endpoint Management module.Navigate to Registry Actions
Click on the Actions tab.
Select Registry from the available options.
Choose the Desired Action
You will be prompted to choose one of the following actions:Add Registry
Modify Registry
Delete Registry
Select Registry Hive
Choose the appropriate registry hive from the list. Common examples include:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
HKEY_USERS
HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG
Select Registry Type
Specify whether you're targeting a Key or a Value.Provide Registry Details
Fill in the following information:Registry Key Path (e.g.,
Software\MyCompany\App
)Value Name (if applicable)
Data Type (e.g.,
REG_SZ
,REG_DWORD
,REG_BINARY
)Value Data (as required for the action)
Define the Response and Description
Response Name: Provide a name for this registry operation.
Response Description: Include a brief description outlining the purpose of the change.
Select Target Devices
Choose the devices or device groups where the registry change should be applied.Create and Deploy
Click on Create Response to save the configuration.
Deploy the response to apply changes to the targeted devices.
Notes:
Always back up the registry before making any changes.
Misconfigurations in the Windows Registry can affect system stability—ensure changes are validated in a test environment before applying them widely.
